Synopsis

Director's statement
When I made "Zhena Chaikovskogo", I wanted to shift the focus away from the famous composer and onto the woman whom history has left in the shadows. By telling the story from Antonina’s perspective, I explored obsession, denial, and the destructive power of unrequited love. I was interested in how a personal tragedy can unfold behind the façade of cultural grandeur. The film embraces emotional excess and isolation, reflecting Antonina’s psychological descent. Ultimately, the film suggests that devotion, when it clashes with indifference and social hypocrisy, can become a form of self-destruction, and that silenced voices deserve to be heard just as much as genius.
