Mistaken for a dangerous terrorist, Saadi – a regular guy who happens to be an illegal immigrant – sets out on the most dangerous day of his life.
When I made "Opération casablanca", I wanted to revisit a little-known episode of Swiss history through the lens of political intrigue and moral ambiguity. By following the covert financial dealings and diplomatic tensions that unfold far from the battlefield, I explored how neutrality can conceal complex negotiations and hidden interests. Rather than presenting a simple historical reconstruction, I aimed to highlight the human motivations—ambition, fear, opportunism—behind institutional decisions. **The film ultimately underscores** that neutrality is never entirely neutral; it is shaped by choices, compromises, and consequences. Through suspense and reflection, I invite viewers to reconsider how small nations navigate global conflicts.
