Laura Bispuri

Laura Bispuri (b. 1977) is an Italian director celebrated for intimate, character-driven films exploring identity, gender, and family bonds. Trained at Sapienza University and Fandango Lab Workshop, she first earned acclaim with shorts like Passing Time (2010, David di Donatello). Her debut Sworn Virgin (2015, Berlinale competition) examined tradition and gender identity with lyrical restraint. Daughter of Mine (2018, Berlinale) continued her exploration of motherhood, blending emotional rawness with visual delicacy.
