Jessica Sarah Rinland

Jessica Sarah Rinland

Origin: Argentina

Jessica Sarah Rinland (b. 1987, London, UK) is an Argentine-British filmmaker and artist whose work explores ecological interdependence, animal ethics, and conservation practices. Working between documentary and experimental cinema, she is known for a tactile, observational style attentive to gestures of care and scientific labor. Her debut feature Those That, at a Distance, Resemble Another (2019) premiered at Locarno and examined preservation within a natural history museum. Her follow-up, Monólogo colectivo (2024), continues her focus on biodiversity and environmental stewardship in Argentina. Rinland’s cinema combines sensorial precision, ethical inquiry, and a quiet attentiveness to fragile ecosystems and human responsibility.
