Vasilis Katsoupi

Vasilis Katsoupis (b. 1977, Greece) is a Greek writer-director whose work explores psychological isolation, obsession, and artistic creation. After studying film in the United States, he directed several short films before gaining international recognition with his feature debut Inside (2023), starring Willem Dafoe. Set almost entirely within a luxurious but sealed apartment, the film examines survival, confinement, and the fragile boundary between art and possession. Katsoupis’s cinema is marked by visual precision, architectural awareness, and intense character study. Through controlled spaces and minimalism, he crafts suspenseful, existential narratives that probe solitude, creativity, and the limits of endurance.
