Eva Husson

Eva Husson (b. 1977, Le Havre, France) is a French writer-director known for her visually bold, emotionally charged explorations of desire, youth, and female subjectivity. After studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she gained international attention with Bang Gang (A Modern Love Story) (2015), a provocative portrait of adolescent experimentation. Her second feature, Girls of the Sun (2018), premiered in Competition at Cannes, portraying Kurdish women fighters with epic intensity. She later directed Mothering Sunday (2021), a lyrical British period drama. Husson’s cinema combines sensual imagery, psychological depth, and a strong focus on women navigating power and freedom.
